The whole school community celebrated Queen Elizabeth II birthday today with a Garden Party organised by Mrs Harper. The sun shone (just in time) and parents and family arrived with their blankets, chairs and games. Refreshments included lemonade and cakes with traditional English music playing in the background. The WI judged the Bake a Cake competition with a runner-up and winner for each class. There was a tremendous number of cakes and many thanks to the WI members who spent nearly two hours judging the cakes, with every child who entered receiving a certificate. At the end of the afternoon the children sang Happy Birthday, Land of Hope and Glory (accompanied by Amber on the trumpet) and the National Anthem. Our thanks go to Mrs Cupit for coming in on her day off to accompany the children on the piano. We hope you all had a fabulous time and look forward to seeing you on Sports Day in two weeks time. The Sports Ambassadors did a super job setting out the activities today and we look forward to their organisational skills on the 24th June.
