FUTURE EVENTS BEING ARRANGED
The Parent Teacher Association which supports St Mary’s is known as Friends of Bitteswell School (FOBS).
FOBS is a charitable organisation (Reg No 1074749), whose aim is to provide additional resource to further the educational environment and opportunities of the children attending the school.
By bringing together parents, teachers and others to raise money and support the school, it provides an opportunity for everyone to work together towards a common goal. All parents and teachers can get involved even if they only have a small amount of time available.
What does FOBS do?
How do we raise funds?
We raise funds by holding a variety of events throughout the school year. These have varied from year to year and have included:
How have the funds been spent?
The funds we raise are spent on a variety of projects throughout the year; some major investments recently have been the purchase of the Outside Classroom to enhance the learning experience of the children. Providing some of the funding for a long term overhaul of the outside environment of the School, including outdoor musical instruments, such as a set of Corner Chimes. We are working with the School to update some of the tired laptops, first purchased by FOBS some years ago, with new netbooks. (They have gone down very well with the children). Also updating cameras and helping with the technical support required to harmonise the network within the School. Indoor and outdoor sports equipment, school residential trips and children’s workshops are just a few more examples of how the money raised is utilised to ensure all the children benefit throughout their education at St. Mary’s.
How can you join or just help?
FOBS are always pleased to welcome new members regardless of the amount of time they can offer. Please contact the School office, an existing member or the FOBS secretary ; Tracey Cutting at firstname.lastname@example.org
