Learning Support Assistant

Term time contract


3.25 hours per week (Tuesdays 8:45am - 12:00pm)


Salary - Grade 5 (£18,933-£19,314 Full Time Equivalent)


Fixed term until the end of the academic year to meet the needs of a temporary increase in workload due to SEN assessments and applications.


St Mary's CE Primary School is a popular, oversubscribed school with a strong community ethos balanced with high academic aspirations. The school currently is graded Outstanding by Ofsted and Good by SIAMS. We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide additional support for pupils as they access the curriculum.

  • Have a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (or equivalent);

  • The ability to use relevant technology/equipment;

  • Have good interpersonal skills;

  • Enjoy working with children and be able to show initiative;

  • Have high expectations, together with a caring attitude and flexibility;

  • Know how to provide children with a safe and secure environment.

  • Have lots of energy and patience;

  • Demonstrate good communication skills;

  • Have a positive, hardworking attitude;

  • Be able to work effectively within a committed team;
